Rolling Loud California 2021

The three-day festival took place at the National Orange Show event center in San Bernardino, CA from December 10th to 12th. The lineup featured popular rappers such as Kid Cudi, J. Cole, Future, Wiz Khalifa, Tyga, 2 Chainz, and many more. People from all over the U.S traveled for this event. Due to the tragic events of Astroworld, some of the rules of this year's festival were modified. For starters, two weeks before the event, they made an official rule that the festival was 18+. No one under 18 was allowed so tons of people refunded their tickets. This changed the environment of the festival since more people felt more comfortable with it being an adult-only space. Likewise, after three iterations of Rolling Loud in the Los Angeles area, due to the hiatus of the COVID-19 pandemic, the event was held at a new venue.
One of the biggest surprises of the weekend was Kanye West’s guest appearance during Future’s headlining set on the final night. One of the key highlights was the first night with Wiz Khalifa. He brought out Juicy. J as his guest. He did throwback hits such as “Black and Yellow” and “Young, Wild and Free”. For his final performance, he did a memoriam of deceased celebrities while rapping his song “See You Again” from the Fast and Furious franchise. His memoriam included well-known people such as Mac Miller and Young Dolph. He ended with a picture of Kobe Byrant and his daughter.
Overall, the festival was well done despite being in a new location. Others were nervous due to the event last month, but they fought through it.
